Health is a fundamental and basic human right. NSRDO wants to ensure that everybody has access to quality and effective healthcare services. Especially the most vulnerable and hard to reach people living in fragile conflict affected settings where access or availability to basic health facilities are lacking. NSRDO is committed to implementing the provision of primary and secondary healthcare services according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health Afghanistan.
Malnutrition is a serious condition that happens when your diet does not contain the right amount of nutrients. It means “poor nutrition” and can refer to: undernutrition – not getting enough nutrients. Over nutrition – getting more nutrients than needed. Child malnutrition has long been a problem in Afghanistan, but data collected by UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) shows a massive surge in the number of children with severe acute malnutrition admitted to hospitals, from 2,407 in August 2021, to 4,214 in December 2021. Our team in 18 provinces of Afghanistan does this by improving the structure and services of health facilities, ranging from regional and provincial hospitals with over 500 beds, to over 100 different health facilities, we increase the capacity of more than 900 community health workers across Kabul, Herat, Mazar, Jawzjan, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Faryab, Badghes, Ghor, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Laghman, Kunar, Sar-e-Pul, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir and Takhar provinces. supports need and poor families, provide food, vocational and health training and alleviate poverty so that family members can be self-reliant in the long term.
